03 / FROM THE DIRECTOR

A NOTE
BEFORE THE QUEST

Welcome to Orange Coast College’s production of She Kills Monsters!

She Kills Monsters comedically explores themes of youth, family, grief, and loss. Staging this play gives us an opportunity to focus on reconnecting to one of our oldest traditions. Theatre brings us together by materializing our collective trials and inviting us to explore our ability to surmount them. It is in this manner that the play further reconnects us to each other by actively listening, with patience, as we enjoy our time together.

Orange Coast College’s (OCC) Theatre Program persists for, and because of, our dedicated and talented students. Students need support; they need a space to practice newly acquired skills and express themselves as they learn to take on future roles outside of the academic world. OCC’s faculty works closely with students to help them find their own unique voice. We have always welcomed new students to our program and would be happy to include any of those dedicated, or curious, among you.

Finally, we appreciate you, the audience, for joining us today. Thank you for supporting our students, program, faculty, and community members who have worked so incredibly hard to create this amazing show.

With gratitude,
Bethany Kraemer
